Pisagoras

PISAGORAS is an award for German teachers under the patronage of the Federal Minister for Education and Research . Teachers at state-approved general education schools can receive them as individual recognition of their achievements. The award is also intended to promote the reputation of the teaching profession .

Pupils with a secondary school leaving certificate can propose candidates. A jury then selects the best teachers in Germany . For the evaluation, the frequency and content of the suggestions received count. In the case of an online proposal, an online form is filled in with the most important information about the teacher and yourself. Then a form for the personal justification of the proposal must be downloaded, completed and returned.

In addition to the patron Annette Schavan , PISAGORAS is supported by the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs as well as several companies, including Siemens , the BMW Group , MAGNA , Vodafone , ERGO Insurance Group , BSH Bosch and Siemens Hausgeräte , Deutsche Post AG , Deutsche Bahn , schülerVZ , Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft and Faber-Castell promoted.

The first German teacher award went to 79 teachers on July 6, 2007 in Berlin . 3057 students had suggested their “best teacher”. More than half of the award winners teach at the grammar school , only one primary school teacher was awarded.

The award goes back to an initiative of Professor Susanne Porsche , who is also the chairwoman of the organizing association Deutscher Lehrerpreis eV .

The successor to PISAGORAS is the German Teacher Award - teaching innovative .
