Piss on pity

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Piss On Pity (English: piss on pity ) is a battle cry to the circles of world politics dealing with disabilities. The implication of the slogan, according to its proponents, is that while compassion appears to be a positive, helpful emotion , it is actually derogatory. Accordingly, it is based on conscious or unconscious aversion to people with disabilities and on Ableism , who represent this aversion consciously or unconsciously.

Activists who use the slogan declare that their primary goal is to use a militant, provocative slogan of this kind to convey the message that, as with anti-racism and anti- sexism , global social discourse at both government and cultural levels Compassionate about disability and instead promoting inclusive practices and equality .

Simi Linton (psychologist): "Ableism includes the idea that a person's abilities or character traits are determined by the disability, that people with disabilities as a group are inferior to non-disabled people."
