The Oreiller-Killy slope ( OK slope or OK slope for short ) is a red ski slope in the French winter sports resort Val-d'Isère . It is named after the two ski racers Henri Oreiller and Jean-Claude Killy and has been the scene of the first snow criterion since 1966 . As with the La face de Bellevarde piste , the start is below the 2,827 meter high summit of Rocher de Bellevarde , but on the other side of the mountain. The destination is at around 1,800 meters above sea level in La Daille , a district of Val-d'Isère.
Races of all disciplines have already taken place on the OK slope for both women and men . Along with the Saslong in Val Gardena , the Lauberhorn run in Wengen , the Streif in Kitzbühel and the Kandahar run in Garmisch, it is one of the five classic runs in the Alpine Ski World Cup .
Compared to the Solaise and La face de Bellevarde slopes , which were used for women and men at the 2009 World Ski Championships , the OK slope is flatter and less technically demanding. In the World Cup, the women’s races continue to take place on the OK slope, while the men’s race has been on the Face de Bellevarde since 2008 .
