Henri Oreiller 1948

Henri Oreiller (born December 5, 1925 in Paris , † October 7, 1962 in Montlhéry ) was a French ski racer and automobile racing driver .

Career

At the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz, Oreiller won the gold medal in downhill skiing and in the combination , which was also an Olympic value at the time, as well as the bronze medal in slalom . He was also a multiple French champion . After his career as a ski racer, Oreiller became a racing car driver. He was killed in a touring car race at the Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry (south of Paris).

Together with Jean-Claude Killy is Oreiller namesake of the famous World Cup -Departure slopes Oreiller-Killy (OK piste) in Val d'Isere .
