biography

He won two slalom races in the Ski World Cup . At the 1964 Olympic Games in Innsbruck , he won the silver medal in slalom. In the alpine combination, also held as part of the games, he came third. This discipline was not "Olympic" at that time, the race was counted as a world championship. On August 4, 1966, on the opening day of the 1966 Alpine World Ski Championships in Portillo , Kidd suffered a double fracture of his right leg while training on the downhill run. At the Alpine World Ski Championships in 1970 in Val Gardena , he was world champion in combination and third in slalom. Although this world championship was also part of the World Cup, only third place in the slalom was included in the World Cup ranking, because World Cup combinations are only held from 1974/75.

He won two races in the Ski World Cup .
