Urs Lehmann (born April 1, 1969 in Rudolfstetten ) is a former Swiss ski racer . Since 2008 he has been President of the Swiss Ski Association .

biography

In 1987, Lehmann won the gold medal in the downhill at the Junior World Ski Championships in Hemsedal , whereupon the Swiss Sports Aid Foundation named him the Swiss young athlete of the year. At the 1993 World Ski Championships in Morioka - Shizukiushi, he became world champion in the downhill and won the only medal for Switzerland. The Aargauer is next to Peter Müller , the only Swiss skiing champion, who from the Central Plateau originates. He was less successful in the Ski World Cup : Overall, he was able to place in the top ten five times, four times in a downhill and once in a Super-G . His best result was a fourth place on December 11, 1992 at the downhill in Val Gardena . In the spring of 1997 he announced his resignation.

Lehmann then studied business administration in St. Gallen and Zurich and graduated in 2009 with a doctorate. Since January 2009 he has been CEO of Similasan AG in Jonen , a Swiss company for the manufacture of homeopathic medicines . He is also a co-commentator for the television station Eurosport on broadcasts of alpine ski races. Lehmann has been married to the former Swiss freestyle skier Conny Kissling since June 1, 2002 and has a daughter (* 2004). On August 26, 2006, Lehmann was elected to the Presidium of the Swiss Ski Association. Its delegate assembly on July 5, 2008 elected Lehmann as president.

Urs Lehmann and four other people were nominated as a possible winner of the Arosa Humor Shovel 2013, a jury award from the Arosa Humor Festival .

On April 7, 2020, he submitted his application for the presidential office of the International Ski Association to succeed the retiring Gian Franco Kasper .
