Pistyll Rhaeadr is a waterfall in Wales . It is located near the northern Welsh town of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant in the Unitary Authority Powys , 20 km west of Oswestry .

description

The Pistyll Rhaeadr is fed by the Afon Disgynfa river . The river falls in three stages over a 73 m high Silurian rock face. From here the river continues to flow under the new name River Rhaeadr (Welsh Afon Rhaeadr ). The highest of the three steps measures over 40 m. The Pistyll Rhaeadr is one of the so-called Seven Wonders of Wales .

The Tan y Pistyll Restaurant at the foot of the waterfall

Although the waterfall has been referred to many times in the media, government sources and other sources as the tallest waterfall in Wales or the tallest single-tier waterfall in the UK , it is surpassed in both categories by both the Devil's Appendix and Pistyll y Llyn and other waterfalls.

There is parking near the waterfall, as well as a café and B&B that goes by the Welsh name Tan y Pistyll ( Little House Under the Waterfall ). It has official approval to carry out civil weddings for those willing to marry who want to say yes in the face of the waterfall.
