Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant is a village in Powys Unitary Authority in Wales with 1,470 inhabitants, 65% of whom speak the Welsh language .
Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant is on the border between North and Mid Wales. It was the parish of William Morgan who translated the Bible into Welsh in the 16th century and later became Bishop of Llandaff and of St Asaph .
Attractions
A seven kilometer long avenue, lined with mountain ash, leads to the 73 meter deep Pistyll-Rhaeadr waterfall , which is considered one of the “ Seven Wonders of Wales ”. The Berwyn Mountains and Lake Vyrnwy are not far from the village.
Location
Because of its original village character, Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant filmed much of the World War I British comedy " The Englishman Who Climbed A Hill and Comed Down From a Mountain " starring Hugh Grant .
