The Piz Paradisin (also Pizzo Paradisino, German literally: "Paradise summit") is at an altitude of 3302  m above sea level. M. after the Cima de 'Piazzi and the Cima Viola, the third highest mountain in the Livigno Alps . The summit is exactly on the border between Italy and Switzerland.

Location and surroundings

The Swiss Val da Camp , a side valley of the Val Poschiavo , extends south of the mountain and the Italian Valle di Livigno to the north. With a notch height of 870 meters, Piz Paradisin is a relatively independent mountain. A special feature is a lake at an altitude of almost 3100 meters, which is only about 300 meters southwest of the summit, directly below the summit structure.

Routes to the summit

Despite its relatively easy accessibility from Alp Camp or from the pass road to Forcola di Livigno, the mountain is rarely climbed. From one of these two starting points you can reach the Pass da Val Mera via hiking trails. The usual route leads from there pathless in an easterly direction to the Vedreit da Camp glacier. Then it goes either over the glacier or north of it in the scree up to the lake below the summit. From there the south ridge is reached and over it the summit, at the end of which there is a short dodging into the steep east flank. The level of difficulty is T6 / II. Under good conditions. In wet, snow or icy conditions, the level of difficulty increases considerably due to the many smooth and slippery plates.
