The Pizolada delle Dolomiti , or La Pizolada for short , is an Italian ski mountaineering competition that has been held annually since 1973 and is held in the Fassa Valley of the Passo San Pellegrino above Moena . The Pizolada is one of the most important competitions of this sport that are held in Italy. The name comes from the Ladin expression “se pizolar” and roughly means “to slide gently over the soft snow on skis / on a sledge”.

The participants have to cover a distance of around 18 kilometers with an altitude difference of 1,850  meters . In addition, a ten-kilometer route is offered for the less experienced.
