Pyotr Akimowitsch Dibrowa ( Russian Пётр Акимович Диброва ; born September 6, 1901 in Shamrajewka , Poltava Governorate ; † September 30, 1971 in Moscow ) was a Soviet officer. From 1953 to 1956 he was the Soviet city commandant of Berlin .

Life

He joined the Red Army in 1918 and took part in the Russian Civil War. In 1925 he had his maiden name Chailo changed to Dibrowa.

From December 1940 he was a member of the Military Council of the Special Baltic Military District. After the German-Soviet War began in June 1941, this special district was renamed the Northwest Front . From August to November 1941 Dibrowa served as military commissar in the 30th Irkutsk Rifle Division in the section of the 9th Army on the southern front . From December 18, 1941 to June 16, 1942 he was a member of the Military Council of the 59th Army of the Volkhov Front and from June 17, 1942 to December 5, 1942 a member of the Military Council of the 2nd Shock Army , taking part in the Ljuban Operation and participated in the battle for the village of Sinyavino.

From January to August 1943 he completed the advanced course at the Voroshilov Military Academy . In August 1943 he was appointed commander of the 15th Reserve Rifle Brigade and on September 9th major general. From April to September 1944 he was in command of the 145th Rifle Division, which was subordinate to the 92nd Rifle Corps (Lieutenant General Nikolai Ibjanski ) of the 1st Baltic Front . As part of Operation Bagration , his troops took part in the June and July 1944 offensive between Vitebsk and Orsha , the Polotsker operation and finally the advance of the 43rd Army on Riga .

On September 29, 1944, about 30 kilometers south of Riga, he was seriously wounded in the fighting west of Baldone in the left hand. Until May 1946 he was treated in various hospitals and operated three times. From June 1946 to January 1952 he was director of several courses at the Faculty of Military History of the Frunze Military Academy .

Dibrowa was the Soviet city commandant of Berlin from 1953 to 1956 and declared a state of emergency for East Berlin during the uprising of June 17, 1953 . After that he was a teacher at the Frunze Military Academy and retired in 1960.

Pyotr Dibrova was buried in the Preobrazhenskoye cemetery in Moscow.
