Pyotr Ivanovich Turchaninov

Peter Ivanovich Turchaninov ( Russian Пётр Иванович Турчанинов * November 21 . Jul / 2. December  1779 greg. In Kiev , † March 16 jul. / 28. March  1856 greg. In Saint Petersburg ) was a Russian composer.

Giuseppe Sarti's pupil lived in Gatschine from 1809. He later became a singing teacher for the Hofsinger Society and a choir director at various churches in St. Petersburg. He composed three and four-part choral movements for church services, some of which are still in use today.
