Planet Hemp

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Planet Hemp was a Brazilian rock and rap band . As can be seen in their name, which means roughly planet hemp in German, the band was committed to the legalization of cannabis in their lyrics . Its best-known member was the rapper Marcelo D2 , who later became a successful solo artist . The band was founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1993 and broke up eight years later due to differences, as well as Marcelo D2's solo career, who, however, still has performances with members of his previous band. Alongside him, Skunk, Rafael, Formigão and Bacalhau were founding members of the band. From 1998 to 2015 Bacalhau was the drummer with the band Autoramas , after which he briefly brought Planet Hemp back to life.
