Plasma (demo scene)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Plasma is a graphic animated effect generated in real time . Color changes that are distorted in different directions create the impression of fluid movement.

The plasma effect was used particularly often by programmers in the demo scene in the early 1990s for their computer demos or intros and can be created quite easily using software rendering using sine tables.

One variant is the fractal plasma, in which color transitions with the optical properties of fractals are used (see Diamond-square algorithm ).
