PC Magazin , published by WEKA Media Publishing , is a monthly computer magazine that mainly deals with the technical aspects of computers , software , hardware and other IT-specific topics.

history

The magazine was founded in 1987 as " DOS International" (in the then publishing house DMV ). DOS International was the first German-language computer magazine that dealt exclusively with IBM-compatible PCs . It was particularly popular among programmers. In mid-1992, “DOS” was even able to take the lead in German-language computer magazines for a short time, with a circulation of over 200,000 issues - even before Chip . From July 1994 the magazine mc was only distributed as a 45-page supplement by subscription to DOS International.

With the takeover of Magna Media Verlag, the rights to the title “PC Magazin” fell to WEKA Holding. Due to the declining importance of the operating system "DOS", the management decided to change the title of the flagship from "DOS" to "PC Magazin". In a transition phase (1996/97) the publication was called “PC-Magazin DOS”.

The original PC Magazin was published weekly from 1984 to 1997 by PC Magazin Verlagsgesellschaft mbH, a subsidiary of the WEKA Group. In June 1997 the editorial staff of this magazine changed to InformationWeek .

The official website was later merged with the Swiss magazines video and PCgo .

content

It usually appears in two editions per edition: as a super premium edition with three DVDs and as a DVD edition with one DVD . The content consists mainly of current news, reports, practical articles and tests.
