The Playa Escondida (Spanish for A stretched beach is) a beach in the north of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . On the west side of Cape Shirreff on the northern foothills of the John Paul II Peninsula, it is located immediately north of Punta Pasillo .
Scientists of the 45th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1990–1991) gave it its descriptive name.
