The Barclay Bay is a bay on the north coast of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It lies between Cape Shirreff on the northern tip of the John Paul II Peninsula and Essex Point on the northwestern end of the Byers Peninsula .
The name of the bay can be found for the first time on maps of the British navigator James Weddell from 1825. The naming background or the namesake is unknown.
