The Etar snow field ( Bulgarian ледник Етър lednik Etar ) is a 15 km long and 5 km wide snow field in a south-southwest-north-northeast orientation on the John Paul II Peninsula of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It flows from the western slopes of Oryahovo Heights and the northern slopes of Rotch Dome to Barclay Bay , which it reaches between Mercury Bluff and Rowe Point .
The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2005 after the town of Etar in the central Balkan Mountains .
