The Playa Marko is a beach in the north of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located immediately south of Punta Haydée and extends to Punta Del Medio on the east side of Cape Shirreff on the northern foothills of the John Paul II peninsula .
Chilean scientists named him after Marko Gajardo Guzmán, a participant in the 39th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1984–1985).
