The Plena Manlibro de Esperanta Gramatiko ( PMEG , Esperanto for: Complete Manual of Esperanto Grammar ) is a book with the aim of explaining the grammar of the planned language Esperanto in an easily understandable way. It was mainly written by Bertilo Wennergren and is aimed at Esperantists who want to study the grammar , word formation , writing and pronunciation of this language.

In order to make it easier to understand, the work does not use traditional grammatical expressions, instead of substantivo ( noun ) it says O-vorto , instead of prepozicio ( preposition ) rolvorteto . The new names are better suited to describe Esperanto. For example, tiu , ambaŭ and ties would be adjectives according to traditional terminology , but behave differently than adjectives with -a , whereas the designation A-vorto combines words that behave similarly.

The PMEG is above all a practical learning tool , not a theoretical description for linguists , unlike the Plena Analiza Gramatiko , which was considered the largest scientific treatise on Esperanto until the PMEG was published.

From 1995 to 2006 the PMEG only existed on the Internet, since 2006 it has also been available in book form, published by Esperanto-USA.

Wennergren is solely responsible for the content, although many other people were involved in creating it.
