Pleuron (mythology)
Pleuron ( Greek Πλευρών ) is the son of Aitolus and Pronoe in Greek mythology . His brother is Kalydon , the founder of the Aetolian city of the same name . His wife is Xanthippe , the daughter of Doros . With this he had a son named Agenor and three daughters named Sterope , Stratonike and Laophonte .
He is considered to be the founder of the Aetolian city of Pleuron . In Sparta he was worshiped in a heroon , as he was considered the ancestor of Leda , the wife of the Spartan king Tyndareus .
