The Plunket Point is a rocky outcrop in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . At the northern end of the Dominion Range, it marks the point where the Beardmore and Mill glaciers meet .
The cape was discovered by participants in the Nimrod expedition (1907-1909) led by the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton . It is named after William Plunket, 5th Baron Plunket (1864–1920), the then Governor General of New Zealand .
