The Pneu Egger AG, Aarau is a Swiss specialty chain for tires (tires), based in Aarau . It operates a garage network with a total of 40 branches, making it the market leader in Swiss tire retailers. The company employs around 400 people and in 2013 generated sales of around 110 million Swiss francs .

The company sells standard and special tires for passenger cars as well as commercial and industrial vehicles, and also sells aluminum wheels and accessories. It offers various services such as assembly, balancing , storage, steering geometry measurement , shock absorber , exhaust and battery service . The company also operates a national tire breakdown service for trucks and delivery vans .

history

Pneu Egger was founded in 1949 by Hans Egger in St. Gallen . He opened his first tire shop there. In 1962 the first branch in Telliquartier in Aarau followed, which later became the new company headquarters, as well as the first Swiss re-gumming plant. In the following 20 years, the company opened another twelve branches under the operational management of Hans Hartmann. In 1982 Hans Hartmann bought the company and subsequently opened another 16 locations. In 1998 operational management passed to his son Gregor Hartmann.
