Pořejov (German Purschau ) was a village in the Bohemian part of the Upper Palatinate Forest (Český les). Its corridors are now on the territory of the municipality Hošťka on the road between Žebráky and Dlouhý Újezd in tachov district , Czech Republic . The Pořejov cadastral area covers an area of 1171.8522 ha.

history

Purschau was founded around 1275. The place had a castle and two churches, of which the Bartholomäuskirche was a parish church since 1644 . The St. Anna church with the cemetery on a hill west of the village was a pilgrimage church . The majority of the residents were Catholic, but there was also a Jewish community. In 1939 there were 534 inhabitants.

After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Empire and until 1945 belonged to the Tachau district .

At the end of the Second World War, parts of the town and the castle were destroyed in fighting in April 1945 by artillery fire from the advancing American troops. After the war ended, most of the German residents were expelled by 1946. The place was not rebuilt and abandoned in April 1948. Around 1956, dilapidated farms were demolished.

All that remains of Pořejov is the ruins of the former pilgrimage church of St. Anna (Svatá Anna). It is located 1.5 km northeast of Žebráky (Petlarn). The sculpture of the Last Supper , created by Johann Rumpler from Tachau , is now in the Tachov Museum and was first exhibited outside the Czech Republic in 1993 on the occasion of the 650th anniversary of Bärnau .
