PocketC

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

PocketC is a simple dialect of the C programming language for Palm OS - PDAs . The programs can be created on the handheld. The source texts are translated into a byte code which can also be executed with a freeware runtime on other Palm OS devices. But there is also a desktop version of PocketC.

Many operating system functions are supported, such as graphics , sound , key query , memory card access and event query . One advantage of PocketC is the ability to integrate program libraries that can be created with a compiler such as prc-tools . This makes it possible to create time-critical functions in machine code.

There is also a port for Windows CE , but this is no longer being developed.
