Pocket Web

The Pocket Web is a device that looks like an electronic organizer . It is also known as a handheld terminal . It can receive emails ; a web browser is also available. It is an OGO device (CT-17) from the Israeli manufacturer IXI Mobile, Inc. specially adapted for the German provider.

Application software and operating system are proprietary .

The network connection runs via GPRS , telephony is only possible via an additional headset that can be connected via mini USB or Bluetooth .

The Pocket Web has also implemented rudimentary options for storing contacts; these contacts can be synchronized with Microsoft Outlook via a PC .

Furthermore, there is the possibility of RSS - web feeds received to give 6 Feeds fixed and 4 are more freely selectable.

In Germany it was only available from 1 & 1 and enables e-mail from 5 different providers. A push service is available for e-mail addresses from 1 & 1 or its sister companies GMX or web.de. Further e-mail use is exclusively as webmail , i. H. possible by using the browser.
