Podła Góra

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Podła Góra (German Steinbach ) is a Polish village with 171 inhabitants. She belongs to the Gmina Skąpe in the powiat Świebodziński in the Lubusz Voivodeship .

Until 1945 the place Steinbach belonged to the district Züllichau-Schwiebus in the province of Brandenburg . Today the place is about 50 km from the Federal Republic of Germany .

In the summer of 2009, the systematic exhumation of the remains of people, including children and old people, who had been buried without clothes on the village's property around 1945, began. References to the problem, especially bullet holes in the skull, had been around for several decades. In January 2009 Jochen-Konrad Fromme asked for an explanation.
