Podlaskie

Podlasie (also Podlasia, Polish Podlasie , Lithuanian Palenkė , Belarusian Падляшша Padljašša , Ukrainian Підлісся Pidlissja , Latin Podlachia ) is a historical landscape in eastern Poland between the Western Bug and the Memel . The most important cities in Podlasie today are Białystok , Biała Podlaska and Bielsk Podlaski .

The area is now largely organized in the Podlaskie Voivodeship . The southern part of historical Podlachia (including Biała Podlaska) belongs to the Lublin Voivodeship .

In the Kingdom of Poland-Lithuania there was also a Podlaskie Voivodeship until 1795 .
