Podoscope

A podoscope is used to record the physiognomy of the feet. Thus, in the orthopedic foot weaknesses and holding anomalies are detected. Digital podoscopes visually capture the shape of the foot and allow the weakness to be documented and calculated. The podoscope is used in back training , in the rehabilitation of various ligament lesions and also as a preventive measure .

The podoscope should not be confused with the pedoscope , a device that used to be used in shoe shops to x-ray the feet in the shoes in order to determine the correct shoe size .

Examples

New digital podoscopes record the foot reaction forces and stress points of people statically and dynamically . The person walks or stands on a platform, for example made of glass, with an integrated mirror and scanning system for foot pressure analysis. A built-in software brings together the various measurement results and, in addition to the diagnosis, also makes suggestions for therapy, for example providing the correct movement sequences . The patient then has the option of visually checking his feet with the help of the mirror and adapting them to the given movement pattern.
