The Aguja Poincenot (German Poincenot Needle ) is a 3002 m high mountain in the Los Glaciares National Park , Argentina and part of the Fitz Roy massif. The needle was named after the French mountaineer Jacques Poincenot , who was part of an expedition to Cerro Fitz Roy in 1952 and drowned while crossing the Rio Fitz Roy on the way .

In 1962 the mountain was climbed for the first time by the Irishman Frank Cochrane and the British Don Whillans via the diagonal ramp of the east face to the southeast shoulder and via the south face to the summit. Since then, some routes have been opened on the Aguja, ranging up to a difficulty level of VIII +, A4.
