The Point-Alpha-Weg at Geisa is one of the Rhön extra tours . In addition to the Hochrhöner long-distance hiking trail , which runs through the Rhön from Bad Salzungen to Bad Kissingen , the German Hiking Institute has awarded 20 extra tours in the Rhön as quality trails with the German Hiking Seal rating . The point alpha path is marked with a red P on a white background.

course

For around 15 km, the family-friendly Point Alpha trail shows hikers some of the most beautiful sides of the Ulstertal . From the castle square in Geisa the path runs over the Gangolfiberg to the "Schlangenpfad", where the path meanders through the forest. From here it goes past the Bocksberg in the direction of Schleid and on to the “Kreuz der Geiserämter”. Over the Ulsterblick with the impressive view of the Ulster Valley, the hiking trail leads back in the direction of Geisa to the Wiesenfelder Grotto and the Point Alpha border crossing point , a focal point of the Cold War and today's border museum. The main hiking trail of the Rhön Club (HWO1) leads back to the starting point Geisa with the historical market and the parish church with carillon.
