The Point Martin is a headland on the south coast of Laurie Iceland in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . On the Mossman Peninsula , it is 1.3 km northwest of Cape Murdoch .
It was mapped in 1903 during the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition (1902-1904) under the direction of the Scottish polar explorer William Speirs Bruce . Bruce named the bay after William Martin (1875 - unknown), Able Seaman on the research vessel Scotia on this expedition.
