Pointe du Lac is an above-ground metro station . It is located southeast of Paris , in the suburb of Créteil .
On 20 September 2006, decided STIF the metro line 8 to Pointe du Lac to extend. Preparatory construction work began on March 5, 2007.
A flyover over the Voie rapide 1 expressway in Créteil had to be built. This is 80 m long and 8.20 m wide and cost 83 million euros.
The station was put into operation on October 8, 2011 and has been the new eastern terminus of Métrolinie 8 since then. It is located 1.3 km south of the old terminal Créteil - Préfecture . The stop serves the Stade Dominique-Duvauchelle stadium of the US Créteil soccer club and the central business district Europarc . At the same time, a new bus line was created which connects the train stations Sucy-Bonneuil ( RER A ) in Sucy-en-Brie and Créteil-Pompadour ( RER D ).
Under the artificial name Téléval (contraction of Téléphérique and Val-de-Marne) or the name "Cabel1" a cable car is to be built as an extension of the existing Métrolinie 8 . The cable car was awarded the contract over ground-based means of transport such as B. the tram, because in this case complex engineering structures (bridges or tunnels) would be required to cross or undercut several railway lines (including the Ligne de la grande ceinture de Paris ) and Route nationale 406 . According to the original plan, construction should take place between 2020 and 2022, and later between 2024 and 2026.
