The Policía Canaria , also known as the Cuerpo General de la Policía Canaria (CGPC) , is the police force of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands .

history

The Policía Canaria was founded in 2010 on the model of the Policía Foral in Navarra and today has around 100 employees.

tasks

The Policía Canaria's task is to protect people, facilities and buildings. To this end, it works with the state police forces Guardia Civil and Cuerpo Nacional de Policía . In addition, according to the law passed by the Parliament of the Autonomous Community on May 28, 2008, its primary task is to implement and monitor provisions of the Autonomous Community.
