The Police Tactical Unit , or PTU for short ( Chinese  警察 機動 部隊  /  警察 机动 部队 , Pinyin jǐngchá jīdòng bùduì , Jyutping went 2 caat 3 gei 1 dung 1 bou 6 deoi 6 ) is a mobile unit of the Hong Kong police for large-scale and special operations. There are six districts with a total of 1,020 police officers in Hong Kong. Each district is divided between four other police units under the direction of a superintendent . Each of these police units includes 32 police officers under the direction of an inspector or senior inspector . These 32 police officers are again placed under the direction of eight sergeants . At the end of the chain, there are eight teams, each with four members, who are then assigned to certain streets to patrol there. The PTU takes over all tasks that the police have.
