The Polizeimusik Wien is a brass orchestra in Vienna . Kapellmeister is the group inspector Herbert Klinger.

The Police Music Vienna was founded in 1909 and is one of the oldest police orchestras in Europe. The orchestra is seen as a means of public relations and a link between the citizen and his police. The official approval for the establishment of Police Music Vienna was granted as early as 1909. The transfer of representative tasks such as state receptions and accreditations by the Republic of Austria took place in 1945. In 1951, the musical design of the state funeral of Federal President Karl Renner followed . In 1955, the Police Music Vienna gave a concert with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in the course of the great liberation ceremony on Vienna's Rathausplatz . After the signing of the State Treaty , there was also a lot of concert tour activity within Germany.

In 1969 Robert Stolz conducted the police music at the gala concert on the occasion of the 100th birthday of the Vienna Security Guard . In 1980, star conductor Lorin Maazel gave the orchestras the honor of conducting a joint production of the Police Music Vienna with the Military Music Burgenland and the Gendarmerie Music of Lower Austria. The record resulting from this recording was titled: "From the double-headed eagle to the star and stripes". Numerous concert tours followed in the 1990s, to Zurich and Basel, Italy, Hungary and Germany. The LIBI concert took place on the occasion of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the founding of Israel in the Raimund Theater. In 2000 the CD “Millennium Concert” was recorded as evidence of the musical spectrum. From 2000 to 2016, Kapellmeister Chief Inspector Ernst Zehetner led the orchestra. For the 100th anniversary of the band, the CD Weana san ma, Weana bleib'n ma was recorded in 2009 . In 2016 his deputy Herbert Klinger, who is also the regional music director of Vienna, took over the direction.
