Pollock House

Pollock House (also Pollok House ) is a mansion in Scotland and is located in Pollok Country Park south of Glasgow city ​​center. It was designed by William Adam in 1752 and contains a collection of Spanish paintings, including a. Paintings by El Greco , Goya , Murillo and precious antiques.

Also on the premises is the Burrell Collection , which can be reached in 10 minutes on foot or with a shuttle bus. There is a collection of over 1,000 species of rhododendrons in the park .

The property was bequeathed to the City of Glasgow in 1966 by the last owner Anne Maxwell Macdonald. Her family had owned it for over 700 years. Today it is administered by the National Trust for Scotland and is open to the public.
