The Burrell Collection is an originally private art collection with over 8,500  exhibits that was donated to his hometown Glasgow in 1944 by the Scottish entrepreneur Sir William Burrell . The collection includes tapestries, glass, ceramics, sculptures and paintings from Europe and Far Eastern countries.

A dedicated museum was built for the Burrell Collection and inaugurated in 1983. It is located in Pollock Country Park , a few miles south of Glasgow city center. In the same park, just a 10-minute walk away, there is another high-quality art collection with paintings by Spanish masters ( Goya , El Greco , Murillo ), the Pollock House .
