The Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot ( Polish: Polska Filharmonia Kameralna Sopot ) is a Polish symphony orchestra that is also firmly anchored in German musical life. It is supported by the ENERGA Group. Its founder and artistic director is Wojciech Rajski .

history

After Wojciech Rajski's positions as chief conductor of the Poznan Philharmonic and first conductor of the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn were not extended in 1981 , he founded the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot in Sopot in 1982 , with which he is still closely associated today. Under his direction, the ensemble played with soloists such as Rostropowitsch , Zimerman , Szeryng , Gutman , Geringas and Claudio Arrau on almost all major podiums in Germany and made guest appearances many times at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival, Braunschweiger Kammermusik-Podium, Rheingau Musik Festival , at the European Weeks in Passau and the festivals in Evian and Montpellier. Since then, the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot has been firmly anchored in German musical life. Critics consistently praise the typical orchestral sound full of vitality, precision and elegance. Numerous, highly regarded CD recordings were made, including her complete recording of the Beethoven symphonies.

The Polish Chamber Philharmonic has performed regularly in Pomerania since it was founded. a. with contemporary Polish works.

In recent years the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot has toured extensively in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the USA and several countries in Eastern Europe.
