Josef Stepberger (born March 10, 1928 ) is a former German soccer player who was active for FC Bayern Munich .

Career

Stepberger belonged to FC Bayern Munich from 1946 to 1950 , for which he played 25 point games and scored seven goals in four seasons in the Oberliga Süd , the top German division at the time. His first of 18 league games in his first season he played on November 3, 1946 (6th matchday) in the 2: 3 defeat in the home game against Phoenix Karlsruhe ; he scored his first of six goals on November 17, 1946 (8th matchday) in a 5-1 win at home against BC Augsburg . In his second season he played four point games and scored one goal. The winning goal to make it 1-0 at Sportfreunde Stuttgart on October 5, 1947 (5th matchday), he immediately succeeded in his first game of the season. In the following season he played only on December 12, 1948 (13th matchday), in the 0-1 defeat in the home game against Kickers Offenbach , a point game. In his last season he was used twice, with his last league game for Bayern on October 23, 1949 (6th matchday) in the 0-2 defeat in the away game against BC Augsburg.
