The Polskie Towarzystwo Turystyczno-Krajoznawcze - PTTK ( German  Polish Tourism and Regional Studies Society ) is a 1950 from the union in 1873 founded Polskie Towarzystwo Tatrzańskie (PTT, Polish Tatra Society ) and Polskie Towarzystwo Krajoznawcze (PTK, Polish Association for Regional Studies ) incurred Society. The statutory objectives of the association correspond to those of the alpine associations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The PTTK has approx. 61,000 members and over 260 sections, to which in turn 2,500 circles and clubs belong. It operates 200 properties with 20,000 places to stay, including 60 tourist houses, 77 mountain huts, 35 huts at landing stages, 33 campsites, five courtyards and 16 museums. The PTTK is also the publisher of maps, hiking maps, brochures and travel guides and has its own library. It maintains approximately 63,000 kilometers of hiking trails. Every year the PTTK organizes around 20,000 events in which around 570,000 people take part.
