Poly (oxy-1,4-phenylsulfonyl-1,4-phenyl) according to chemical nomenclature or colloquially polyethersulfone ( PESU or PES ) is a high-performance thermoplastic belonging to the group of polysulfones .
presentation
The synthesis of poly (oxy-1,4-phenylsulfonyl-1,4-phenyl) can proceed both via a polysulfonylation and via a polyether synthesis.
properties
It is transparent, hydrolysis-proof and chemically resistant. Poly (oxy-1,4-phenylsulfonyl-1,4-phenyl) is superior to polysulfone (PSU) in terms of resistance to chemicals and impact strength . It is mainly used for parts subject to high thermal loads (medical devices, automobile and aircraft construction, electrical and electronic components).
Poly (oxy-1,4-phenylsulfonyl-1,4-phenyl) is currently experiencing an upswing as a material for the manufacture of baby items (especially drinking bottles). The polycarbonate plastics commonly used up to now have been associated with health risks because of the bisphenol A they contain . In contrast to the clear-transparent polycarbonate bottles, the polyethersulfone alternatives are slightly honey-colored.
