Polymorph (band)

Polymorph is a German death metal band that was founded in 1995. She is under contract with the music label "GUC".

history

After initial line-up changes and musical experiments, a rehearsal tape called Evil Spirit was released in May 1996 with Ric (guitar, vocals), Hanne (bass) and Alex (drums) , which was limited to 50 copies and musically resembled Hellhammer . During the first live activities it became clear that the band needed a separate singer, who was found in Falk after a short time, with which the line-up was finally complete.

Material written after this was published in 1997 on the first studio demo In the Face of Death , which was recorded in the "Rape of Harmonies" Studio / Triptis. All 200 tapes could be sold at various concerts with Krabathor , Coercion , Krisiun , Centinex , Exmortem , Purgatory and others.

In October 1998 the quartet joined the "Rape-of-Harmonies" studio again to record their debut album, which was titled Innocent Suffering and was released in March 1999 on GUC Records.

But despite consistently positive reactions to Innocent Suffering , 1999 was not going to be a good year for Polymorph. Due to musical differences, the band separated from their previous bassist Hanne in the following months, and Richts took his place, who had previously played with Namrok.

While planning a European tour with Purgatory, Ric suddenly fell ill unexpectedly. Various live offers from the Netherlands and Switzerland were canceled with a heavy heart. Then the rest of the band decided to continue rehearsing without a guitar until October 1999, when Alex suffered a serious accident at work, and their work had to be put on hold for an indefinite period. In the meantime, Richts left the band for personal reasons.

In December of the following year, Polymorph began to rehearse again, initially without a bass player, and to work through the old songs. However, the search for a suitable bass player turned out to be difficult and so it was decided to retrain Peter, who had previously been a singer with Black Swan, from scratch. A good two years had passed before Polymorph celebrated their live comeback on June 2, 2001 in Freiberg.

To shorten the wait of the fans to new songs, the band was looking for from 26 to 28 July 2002, the "Sound Forge Recordings" Studio Berlin, two new songs for the planned light-Bastards - EP einzuspielen. This was released over a year later in the form of a split 10 "with Purgatory on GUC Records. The new mini-CD Disgraceful Supper was released in summer 2005.
