The Pont Grand ( German : Great Bridge ) is a single-arched stone arch bridge and stands in the south of France .

Location and surroundings

The Pont Grand spans the Doux River , four kilometers west of Tournon-sur-Rhône in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in the Ardèche department in southern France .

Construction and data

The Pont Grand has a span of 49.20 m. The height of the single arch bridge rising towards the middle reaches 17.73 m at its apex.

History of the structure

The bridge was built between 1379 and 1583. On October 3, 1954, the Pont Grand was included in the French national list of historical monuments as Monument historique .
