The Ponte Salgueiro Maia is a road bridge in Portugal . It was inaugurated on June 11, 2000 and spans the Tagus near Santarém . The IC10 highway, now the A13 motorway, crossed the bridge . It relieves the load on Ponte D. Luís I , the only road bridge to date over the Tejo in this area.

The Ponte Salgueiro Maia is a double-hip, 570 m long cable-stayed bridge with two lanes and one hard shoulder. Long foreshore bridges over the flood bed of the Tejo connect to the cable-stayed bridge. The bridge structure is therefore a total of 4,300 m long. Their two reinforced concrete - pylons each consist of a wide pillar under the bridge deck, which continues over it in a vertical shaft in the center axis of the bridge. The main opening has a span of 246 m. The bridge deck is 27.7 m wide and has a height of 2.5 m.

It is named after the captain of the Portuguese army Salgueiro Maia (1944-1992), a key player in the Carnation Revolution , which in 1974 restored democracy in Portugal.
