PopXport - The German music magazine is the music magazine of Deutsche Welle , the international broadcaster of the Federal Republic of Germany. The program can be received worldwide in DW's program. In addition, a partner station takes over the German and 30 the English program (P opXport - The German Music Magazine ). From February 2012 to June 2015 there was also a Spanish edition called " popXtra - El magacín de musica alemana" The magazine presents popular music from Germany.

Charisma

The half-hour program is shown weekly on DW in a German and an English version and is repeated several times. The magazine thus reaches all of Deutsche Welle's target regions at prime time. The magazine is available online on the PopXport broadcast page and on DW's music pages.

Moderators

Kate Müser, Levina Lueen , Markus Schultze and Benedikt Amara alternately moderate the German edition. Former presenters are Catherine Vogel , Anastasia Zampounidis , Janin Ullmann , Nadine Vasta , Nicole Frölich, Sarah Hofmann and Ricardo Grijalva.

PopXport - the German music magazine introduces outstanding performers and bands from Germany, shows the latest trends and reports on important music events. In each issue, PopXport presents video clips of current hits and pop classics in full length. In addition, in every program: an overview of the latest publications, short news from the German music scene and a quiz.

  • PopXport hit presents a song that made it into at least the top 20 of the German charts.
  • PopXport tip plays a current title with full-length chart potential.
  • PopXport kult shows a pop classic from Germany that was also internationally successful.
  • PopXport new offers an overview of interesting new releases.
  • PopXport scene summarizes news from Germany's music scene.
  • PopXport quiz shows a video clip about which a question is asked. CDs and DVDs will be raffled off among the entries with the correct answer.

Series

In the series The Next Generation , popXport has been presenting a newcomer act from Germany every month since 2009, which is supported by the Initiative Musik . In the twelve-part series Grenzlos Pop, German musicians with a migration background were portrayed between October 2015 and March 2016. In the 13-part ranking show PopXport ranking, the editors presented the most successful international music acts from Germany. From May 2017 the series PopXport will be dedicated to famous bands and performers from Germany. In the award-winning series Young Bands in Portrait (WorldFest International Film Festival Houston), popXport introduces bands and artists who are supported by the Initiative Musik.

Prices

PopXport has won numerous international television awards. The show has already received a Gold Remi Award twice at the WorldFest International Film Festival Houston . The PopXport design received a Certificate of Excellence at the New York Festivals .

Cooperations

Since 2009 PopXport has been a media partner of Initiative Musik, the federal government's funding agency for the music industry in Germany. There has been a cooperation since 2005 with Popkomm and Berlin Music Week, the meeting point for the international music industry.
