Popcorn is a German-language youth magazine that deals with the topics of stars and starlets , pop music , newcomer bands and actors .

history

The magazine was published by the Marquard Media Group from 1977 and was merged with Pop / Rocky in 1998 . In 1999 it was taken over by Axel Springer Verlag , which in 2009 sold it to Vision Media GmbH, which belongs to OZ Verlag . In 2018 Egmont Ehapa Media took over the magazine.

The magazine primarily deals with current stars . These are highlighted through interviews , home stories or concert reports. Then there are the trends from cinema and television, youth counseling and service topics. Music and game trends are also shown. As an extra, there are several posters in the magazine about stars that are currently popular with young people.

Popcorn has lost a lot of its circulation in recent years . The number of copies sold has fallen by 84.8 percent since 1998. It is currently 30,658 copies. This corresponds to a decrease of 170,395 units. The share of subscriptions in the circulation sold is 6.16 percent.
