The Popolari Democratici (German about: Democratic People's Party ) were a small Christian Democratic party in the Italian region of Campania . They emerged from the disagreements of some UDEUR activists with the political line of chairman Clemente Mastella , which led to the break and failure of the center-left government of Romano Prodi .

The split took place under the leadership of the three Campanian regional councilors Nicola Caputo , Vittorio Insigne and Giuseppe Maisto , who were excluded from the UDEUR by Antonio Fantini . Caputo left the party again in June 2008 to join the Partito Democratico (PD). Maisto later moved to Alleanza per l'Italia (ApI). The party last appeared in the local elections in April 2010 in Mugnano di Napoli . It has been inactive since then.
