The Foreigner is a 2003 American action film directed by Michael Oblowitz and starring Steven Seagal in the lead role of CIA agent Jonathan Cold .

action

Jonathan Cold, called the Foreigner (= the stranger), is a CIA agent who wants to quit his job because of his age. His boss gives him one last job to bring a package from France to Berlin . On the drive to a farm, “The Stranger” meets the sadist Dunoir, who is supposed to accompany Cold. The frightened residents of the farm do not dare to give the package to Cold. Suddenly strangers attack Cold and Dunoir. Together they kill the attackers. In the car, Dunoir tries to open the package, Cold stops him. You are leaving for Berlin, but several people are interested in the package.

Dunoir turns out to be a mole and employee of terrorists. Cold now also meets "The Stranger" in a motel. He overpowers Cold and forces him to reveal where the package is hidden. But this package found by the stranger and exchanged for the correct one is a bomb, the Stranger is torn apart with the motel, Jonathan jumps out of the window. Secret Mr. Mimms is after the package too. He is a partner of the "foreign" and pursues Cold. But Jonathan can kill him with his hand-to-hand combat technique. In the near future, events roll over, resulting in numerous deaths. Cold opens the package, it contains the flight recorder of a Boeing 747 .

Cold now realizes that terrorists shot down the plane and want to take control of the flight recorder. The foreigner kills all men who stand in his way. It finally comes to a duel in which Cold defeats Dunoir. At the end he is seen driving away on a motorboat.

In 2006 a second film about "The Foreigner" was released under the title The Foreigner: Black Dawn . Jonathan Cold is played again by Steven Seagal.
