The Porjadin Island ( Russian Остров Порядина Ostrow Porjadina ) is an island off the coast of the East Antarctic Queen Marie Land . In the Haswell Islands group , it is 800 m south of Haswell Island .
The team from the west base of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered and mapped them. Soviet scientists carried out a new mapping in 1956 and named it after Jakow Porjadin, navigator of the ship Vostok in the first Russian Antarctic expedition (1819-1821) under the direction of Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen .
